Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing and Terms of Agreement

Q: How much do you charge?

A: Because no two events are ever the same, costs vary based on your needs. We pride ourselves on getting to know you and figuring out exactly what you need. Some things that determine the cost of an event are things like: the day of the week, where the event is located, how long the event is, any additions you might need beyond our initial package, etc. Reach out to us and let us know what you’re looking for. Quotes are free!

Q: When is our balance due?

A: Since Rouse Entertainment caters to such a wide variety of events, and provides such a wide variety of services, the answer to this question is three-fold.

Weddings, Private Parties, and Corporate Events: Once we give you a quote and send you a contract 25% is due upon you signing the contract and submitting it back. This 25% locks in your date. You are free to cancel and will receive a full refund if you cancel no later than Twenty One (21) days before your event. The remaining balance is due Twenty One (21) days before your event, and once you’ve paid the remaining balance you will only recieve Fifty (50%) percent of your overall balance back if you cancel before one week of your event. If you cancel within one week (seven days) of your event you will not receive any refund.

Business Entertainment, School Dances, and Live Music: No payment is required up front. All payments are due by the end of the event unless we’ve agreed upon different terms.

Q: Do you charge for travel?

A: Rouse Entertainment is based out of D’Iberville, MS. All travel within Fifty (50) miles of D’Iberville will not require any additional cost. Once travel exceeds Fifty (50) miles, there will be a charge for mileage and possibly hotel costs. All of this will be included in the final contract.

Q: Once I sign the contract, is that price fixed?

A: We hate hidden fees. Therefore, you’ll never see one with us. What we quote you is what you pay. If there are any additions or changes you need to make to your event, we will adjust and resign the agreed upon contract accordingly. The contract quote includes our services, equipment, setup and tear down time, travel, planning, and consultations. What you see on your contract is the only thing you pay.

What am I getting with Rouse Entertainment?

Q: What are the services that you offer?

A: What a great question! The real question is what services DON’T we offer? At Rouse Entertainment, we like to have FUN! We offer DJ and MC services for weddings, birthday parties, anniversary parties, and pretty much anything else you might want a DJ or an MC for. We offer Karaoke, live bands, Trivia Nights, Open Mic Nights, and we’ll even host Stand-Up Comedy. If you have entertainment lined up and need a sound system, we’d love to come in and provide the production gear needed to pull it off. Essentially, if you have an entertainment need we can help. Just reach out and let us know what you’re thinking! During your event, we promise to do everything in our ability to make sure people are staying engaged and having fun.

Q: Will I need to provide any equipment?

A: Why would you? That’s why you’re paying us. We’ll provide everything you need to pull off your event well. We’ll provide you with a microphone if you need to speak, a good song if you need to dance, and everything in between. If a WiFi connection is available, we might ask for the password.

Q: How early will you arrive the day of our event?

A: Our arrival time depends on the type of event. For weddings, private parties, and corporate events we like to show up about 2 to 3 hours before the start of the ceremony. This assures we have everything working properly and can make any adjustments if the unexpected happens. All other events, we usually like to show up about 1 to 2 hours before the start of the event.

Q: How many people will be with you?

A: Rouse Entertainment is a small/local business run by husband and wife, Kieren and Leighanne Rouse. You are always guaranteed to have Kieren at your event. If any additional help is needed beyond his wife’s capability, he will bring a hand to help.

Q: What will the planning process look like?

A: We love to talk face-to-face as well as text and email. We will set up an initial consultation immediately after you sign your contract, whether it’s meeting up for coffee or talking via Skype/Facetime. We are always an email or text away, but when you do business with Rouse Entertainment you’re family. For weddings, private parties, and corporate events, after your initial consultation we will reach out to you 2-3 weeks before your event to solidify any details that have gone unchecked.

Q: Can we select the music that will be played?

A: Of course! We have an extensive list of hit songs that are bound to keep the party going. We will try to provide you with a current list of songs that are in our library so you can make sure we’re playing the songs you want. During our consultation we’ll ask you for a list of preferred songs if you have any as well as a list of songs you absolutely do not want us playing. During your event, if a song is requested that isn’t on an approved list, we’ll be sure the ask the bride and groom’s approval.

How do we book Rouse Entertainment?

Q: What’s our first step?

A: The first step is to “Get A Quote”. This gives us the initial information we need to give you an initial quote. Once we get all the details regarding your event we’ll send you a detailed contract and invoice. Once that contract is signed and the deposit is paid, we’ll schedule our first consultation to start ironing everything out.

Q: How far in advance should we book you for an event?

A: It’s always a good idea to book us for your event sooner rather than later. For weddings, private parties, and corporate events we recommend waiting no later than 3-4 months. Wedding dates book up fast and it’s first come, first serve.

Q: How do I reserve my date?

A: The first step getting a quote. Once you’ve been given a quote, a contract has been signed, and you’ve paid your 25% deposit, your date is officially reserved.
